Brief
Creators Den is a social media platform to showcase and discover creative work.
It is a hub for creative professionals to curate their work on and also network with potential clients.
I began exploring different style and concept routes for the logo design of the app,
keeping in mind its application on the website and as an app icon.
Design exploration- 01
The first concept I decided to explore was that of visually representing a den-
one that compliments the name of the app, and depicts a "space"- a place for creators. (Click on the image below to go into full screen mode)
Design exploration- 02
A visual exploration of a mind map, a thought connection or the coming together of "creators", an idea that could compliment the concept of the app.

Design exploration- 03
An exploration of a "scribble" as the logo- since a scribble is the foremost tangible identity of any idea that a creator thinks of.

Narrowing Down of Visual Concept
Once the above design routes were presented to the client, one idea that they wanted to explore further was that of a "thought bubble" (a sub-idea that was presented in design exploration 01, above). I went ahead and explored the idea of a simple thought bubble further.
Simple Representation of a Thought Bubble

Thought Bubble+ Coffee
Since Coffee is an famous visual cue for a "creator" at work and fit well with the overarching theme. (Click on the image below to go into full screen mode)
Thought Bubble+ Bomb
The explosion of an "idea" or the potential of an idea to "explode" was something I decided to explore in these set of explorations, where a bomb icon was merged with a thought bubble. (Click on the image below to go into full screen mode)
Selection of Logounit
Finally after exploring all the above options, we zeroed in on the option below.
A clean stark thought bubble logo in a vibrant color was the best representation of the brand. This icon would lend itself well to the website, app as well as the app icon.
After going through a number of color options, we zeroed in on the color purple for its vibrancy and because it signifies magic and creativity- a perfect fit for the brand.
